Ski jumper Michael Glasder of Cary makes U.S. Olympic team. Michael Glasder trained on the Norge Hill in preparation for the U.S. Men's Ski Jumping Olympic Trials on Dec. 30,2017 at Utah Olympic Park in Park City, Utah. Ski jumper Michael Glasder of Cary, qualified for the 2018 Olympics on Sunday. Glasder, who at 28 is nearly six years older than any of his rivals, won the event at Utah Olympic Park in Park City, Utah. In the winner-take-all trials, Glasder defeated the five other male ski jumper finals, including Kevin Bickner of Wauconda, who also trains out of Norge. The Norge Ski Club was founded in 1905 by Norwegian immigrants. It is one of the oldest continuously operated ski groups in the country. Three more U.S. ski jumpers could qualify for the PyeongChang Games based on world cup results through Jan. 22. The Winter Olympics are Feb. 9-25.
