Comments: Welch Village is a family owned resort located 20 minutes outside of Red Wing, MN with trails for all abilities, moguls, steeps, cruisers, and gentle runs. Two lodges with food and drinks. 8 chairs, 50 trails, and 360 ft of vertical. Afton Alps is owned by Vail with a $10 million upgrade in 2013, 300 skiable acres, 18 lifts, 48 trails, and 350 ft of vert. Piccadilly party bus drive time is approximately 6.5 hours. Overnight lodging at AmericInn, Red Wing includes hot breakfast, swimming, & hot tub. Ski/ride two days. Afton Alps is on the Epic pass. Non-skier options. Bus loads 2:30 p.m. Friday afternoon, and leaves Suburbanite Bowl, 201 W Ogden Avenue, Westmont, at 3:00 p.m. sharp (to accommodate bus driver rest requirements) and returns Sunday evening.
